How Parents Are Involved
Parents play a crucial role in their child's therapeutic journey. Here's how we work together:
Initial Consultation
We meet with parents first to understand concerns, history, and goals for therapy.
Regular Updates
Parents receive feedback on progress while maintaining the child's confidentiality.
At-Home Strategies
We provide practical techniques to support your child's progress between sessions.
Joint Sessions
When appropriate, we include parents in sessions to practice new skills together.
What to Expect
First Session
Parent consultation (without child) to discuss concerns, history, and goals. We'll explain our approach and answer your questions.
Assessment Phase
2-3 sessions with your child to build rapport, understand their perspective, and develop a treatment plan.
Ongoing Therapy
Weekly or fortnightly sessions (typically 45-50 minutes) with regular parent check-ins.
